A Happy Ending For The Lucky 7!

It's been a long journey for the Lucky 7. On July 3, WCAHS received a call about a mama dog and her pups that had been dumped by the side of the road. What we initially thought was a mama and two tiny babies turned into a mama and seven frolicking bundles of puppy love! (Read the full story here.)

The Lucky 7 family did a lot of traveling. First they attended an adoption even at Tractor Supply Co. in Mankato.

Then they made their way to the Waseca County Fair with WCAHS. The pups got lots of love and attention. They even met some of their forever homes there!

By mid-August, almost all the pups were adopted!

Tank (formerly Chance), one of the Lucky 7 pups, is loving his forever family!

Even Lucky, their mama, had a happy ending. She started as a bag of bones with seven hungry puppies trailing behind.

Right after arriving in foster care

Tractor Supply Co. donated their premium dog food, 4health, to Lucky and family. Good food (and plenty of it!) was instrumental to Lucky's return to health.

"Just call me the Septa-Mom!"

After a week, she began to gain weight. Her coat started picking up luster. And look at that smile!

After two weeks, she even began to play!

"It's not easy looking this good."

 She was incredibly pleased with her own progress after three weeks.

By four weeks, she was as fit and as happy as could be.

Lucky found her forever home with the people who had first found Lucky and family. They fell in love with the skinny mama dog, and vowed to bring her home after the Lucky 7 were weaned. Thanks to them, to their foster mom, and to Tractor Supply Co., Lucky can finish out her life as a happy, healthy, and 100% loved dog.

So the story is over, and everyone got their happily ever after! Thank you to everyone who donated to the Lucky 7, or stopped by to meet them at adoption events and at the fair!
