Bark in the Park

This Saturday was WCAHS's Bark in the Park. It was held at Clear Lake Park, in the pavilion (what a nice space and park!)

The event was from 12-4, and there were door prizes, games, food, and a whole lot of fun.

We had a great group of volunteers who gave their Saturday to help out.

Fair hair was done by Jackie Krause/Golden Touch Beauty Salon of Waseca.
Even some dogs got fair hair--to the shock of others!
We also had some great vendors--great thanks to Tom Klug (and helpers!) from Otisco Valley Growers who brought amazingly delicious hot dogs, Trevor and Amanda Kanewischer from Sno-Biz, and B&C Enterprises/Bill and Colleen Tolzman who brought Lil' Orbits mini donuts!

We also had MT Balloons there. They make some awesome balloon creations!

And, of course, we had the always-popular bounce house!

Muttnik, the Mankato Moondogs mascot, was there for a while.

We had a cake walk, with dog cakes donated by Michele at Beggar's Bakery inside Leashes and Leads in Byron. Dogs could choose from carrot, apple spice, and banana nut.

Dogs could play games, like bobbing for hot dogs.

We also had some adoptable animals there--lots of kittens (and Barney). Dixie, Grizzly, and Mandi were there, too, and got to meet some great people! Our photographer, Kim from Kims Kreations and Photography in Waseca, got some great shots!

Kim also took some great pictures at our photo booth. This is my handsome old dog, Osker!
Sorry folks, he's not up for adoption!
We had t-shirts, travel bowls, and bandanas for sale. If you're interested in purchasing one to help WCAHS, t-shirts are $10 and bandanas and bowls are $5. Contact wcahsadoptions@gmail.com for more details!
Choose from our plain logo tee or our ever-popular "Balls Are For Fetching" shirts in lime green or hot pink!
Hoodies and tank tops to come!
All in all, it was a great day! Thanks to everyone who stopped by, and another big thanks to all our volunteers!

Another big thank you to the folks who donated our door prizes and guessing jar prize--Epona Leatherworks, Ruggit Collars, Pooch Tags, Michele at Beggar's Bakery in Leashes and Leads, and Pamela's Pet Shop

And, for anyone curious about the guessing jar, there were 1,192 pieces inside. The closest guess was Megan Deppe, with a guess of 1,032!
